AdventureWorksOffline Report Samples

The AdventureWorksOffline report samples are a set of predefined report definition files that use XML representations of data taken from the AdventureWorks databases. As a result, the AdventureWorksOffline report samples do not require an active connection to the AdventureWorks. You can use these sample reports to familiarize yourself with individual features of when authoring reports.

Scenario

Adventure Works Cycles publishes product and sales information that is accessed by employees throughout the company. The reports present this data in a variety of formats.

Chart Sample Reports

The AdventureWorks sample reports demonstrate a wide range of report features. The following table provides descriptions that explain the chart samples that are available.

Report Description
_AreaCharts This report illustrates properties related to the area chart.
BarChartsVisualEffects This report illustrates the visual effects that can be set on a bar or column chart.
_FunnelCharts This report illustrates how to set properties on the funnel chart.
_LineCharts This report illustrates how to set properties on a line chart.
PieChartsCollectingSlices This report illustrates how to collect small slices on a pie chart.
PieChartsDisplayingLabelsOutside This report illustrates how to display labels around the outside of a pie chart.
PieChartsVisualEffects This report illustrates various visual effects that can be set on a pie or doughnut chart.
_RadarCharts This report illustrates how to set properties on a radar chart.
_Stock Charts This report illustrates how to set properties on a stock chart.
Appearance_BorderSkins This report illustrates various border skins that can be applied to the chart.
Appearance_ColorPalette This report illustrates various color palettes that can be applied to the chart.
Axis_ScaleBreaks This report illustrates how the chart calculates a scale break if there is sufficient space.
Axis_SecondaryAxis This report illustrates how to make use of the secondary axis.
Axis_SpecifyNumOfIntervals This report illustrates how to show all labels on an axis.
Data_AddingCalculatedSeries This report illustrates how to add a calculated series to a chart.
Data_HighlightMaxPoint This report illustrates how to highlight the maximum data point in a series.
Data_HandlingEmptyPoints This report illustrates how to handle null values by adding empty points to the chart.
Data_Trendlines This report illustrates how to add a trend line to the chart.


Gauge Sample Reports

The AdventureWorks sample reports demonstrate a wide range of report features. The following table provides descriptions that explain the gauge samples that are available.

Report Description
Gallery_MetallicFrameGauge This report contains an example of a metallic frame gauge.
Gallery_Thermometer This report contains an example of a thermometer.
Gallery_TurboRPMGauge This report contains an example of a turbo RPM gauge.
Pointers This report illustrates how to format the gauge pointer.
Scales This report illustrates how to format the gauge scale.


Text Sample Reports

The AdventureWorks sample reports demonstrate a wide range of report features. The following table provides descriptions that explain the text samples that are available.

Report Description
HTML_Import This report illustrates how to import HTML into a text box..
HTML_MailMerge This report illustrates how to create a mail merge after importing HTML into a text box.
Text_FormattingSelected This report illustrates how to mix multiple formats inside of a single text box.
Text_MailMerge This report illustrates how to create a mail merge inside of a single text box.


Prerequisites

Your system must have Business Intelligence Development Studio installed.

Note:
Business Intelligence (BI) Development Studio is not supported on Itanium-based computers. However, support for BI Development Studio is available for x64-based computers. If the SQL Server sample databases have been deployed on an Itanium-based computer, use BI Development Studio on either an x86-based or x64-based computer to modify and run the samples.

the file is missing Data_AddingCalculatedSeries

I have downloaded the examples, but, I could not find the report containing "Appearance_ColorPalette " with the description "This report illustrates various color palettes that can be applied to the chart.".
